Gripe Water

So.. I was getting really upset the last week or so because Andrew would not want to drink his bottles at all and was hardly eating. I was at the grocery store on Wed. and I came across Gripe Water! I have had quite a few people mention it with Andrew and I remember having a lot of people suggest it with Jade. I was up for anything that will help Andrew be happy and get him to drink his bottles. So I bought it, went right home, got out the little dropper, filled it up, gave it to Andrew, put his bottle in his mouth.. and Voilà he drank the whole dang thing! A little while he started to be fussy again, and guess what!? He just wanted another bottle. The next full day I had him on this stuff I am pretty sure he doubled his fluid intake! Wew Who! Maybe with this stuff he will be able to put on some weight.

brief update

Things here have been kinda busy lately with Adams' work schedule, the swim team, cranky boys, etc. I am not sure why but the last week or so, the boys have been awfully cranky with me. Anytime I escape for a break Adam says they were good for him... go figure. Andrew hasn't been wanting his bottles very much lately. He is now drinking about 2 or 3 oz. a feeding, sometimes more, sometimes less. He is still on the prevacid for reflux, and in fact, we just had the dose upped at the beginning of the month. So.. not sure what is going on with that. Aiden is pretty normal. I was finally able to get rid of the rash on the back of his head, and the bumps on his chest. I finally narrowed it down to being from the spilled formula on his car seat and/or swing. I washed them both last week and right after doing so, the rash cleared right up...

Ian and dad had a 11+ year olds swim meet yesterday. Ian swam a 200 IM, which is 8 laps. He was pretty proud of himself. That is really good, as I could never do it. They seamed to have a really nice time. Grammy Carol came over while they were gone and ended up taking Jade home with her.. Jade was SO excited to go. Now that our neighbor girl isnt taking much interest in playing with her, she thinks she is going to wither away with boredom. Ian is now over there also. She has her hands full tonight!!! LOL!

As for me.. I am just hanging out doing whatever it is I do.. I have been trying to make small improvements on our house. I am doing curtains, shower curtains, trimming blinds, etc. Yesterday I painted a bed and night stand that Aimee brought over for Jades' room. They look pretty good, although another coat of paint wouldn't hurt. I always want to Scrapbook.. but when it comes down to it, after the boys are in bed and I can concentrate.. I am too tired. :D I am going to try and do some pages tonight. Grammy Carol just bought a Cricut Machine!! I have been wanting one of these for a long long time, so I can't wait to try it!

Thunder Storms!

Last week there was some really exciting thunder storms in our area. We sat in the house and watched the rain blow completly sideways. I was kinda scared. After the storm I was outside and there were so many trees and peices of trees on the ground. Right down the road there was a house that lost 2 or 3 huge old trees in their yard and another house had a tree fall into their house(I was going to take some pics but didn't want to make anyone mad). This is kinda a concern for us, as we have a few huge old trees right outside our back door.

Everytime we have a storm I am wondering if those trees are going to come down. So far we have been lucky! A few branches have fallen here and there, but nothing real bad. As I look around the neighborhood.. we are the only one with that many tall trees right outside the house.. weird.

Angry Aiden Strikes Again

I put Aiden to bed last night and he went right to sleep. About an hour later I went in to check on him and he had blood smeared all over his nose... The cut wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, thank goodness! (trimmed his nails today!)

So.. on a side note... later yesterday afternoon.. after I trimmed mr. aidens nails.. he struk(sp?) again.. about 1 inch to the right. GEEZ. Looks like he is abused.

The boys are both doing awesome. Nurse Kristi came by yesterday to weigh them. Chunky Aiden is weighing in at 15 lbs. 11 oz. and Anorexic Andrew is 13 lbs. 15 oz. Aiden is like an eating machine I tell you! He eats and eats and eats. He has developed a little rash on the bald spot on the back of his head. The dr. tells us it is eczema. We have been putting some cream on it for the last week and it really hasnt gone away yet. I hope it will go soon because it sure looks painful. Other than that they are definitly teething. We had a few pretty grumpy days the past couple weeks. At one point I thought I would pull my hair out.. but we got past it :0).

Jade and Ian are also doing really good. Over the weekend Dad took them and cousin Gabe to see Kung Foo Panda I think they all enjoyed it. Both Ian and Jade were a big help with the boys. I had them watch the little boys while I cleaned up the house. They both enjoy taking responsibility when I give them a little "alone time" with the boys. There was not any swim practices last week and they definitly missed it. This week we have 2 swim meets!! Hopefully after a week off they are ready to roll!!

July 7 ~ National Chocolate Day!!!

While I was looking through a scrapbook magazine a couple nights ago, I read a little something about July 7th being Chocolate Day!!. I looked it up, and it really is.. kinda! At least according to National Confectioners Association! So, make sure you celebrate by eating some good ole' chocolate!!!

HappY IndependencE DaY!!

One of my favorite songs is the Star Spangled Banner. I am not sure why, but all my life since being a very small child, whenever I hear that song I get chills or something like it.. I am very thankful to live in this safe country. I know that we have a lot of problems, etc., but I really am thankful that we have freedom! Happy Birthday America!!!

Looks like we are starting this day early.. it is currently 5:11 a.m! Both Aiden and Andrew were all smiles by the time I reached their crib. I know Andrew is to blame for waking Aiden up.. because Aiden most always sleeps till 8:00! I am not sure what we have planned for today. There are activities going on around the city. Adam mentioned a watermelon eating contest?! Wouldn't that be fun for the kids!!!
