They Tried To Burn Down the House!

I kid you not! These two - two year olds we have tried to burn down the joint tonight! flames

Adam had just served the boys dinner on a paper plate and went back to work on cleaning up a mess. I took off to gather some things in the garage and I came back in to the kitchen and the oven was on FIRE!

Oh MY Gosh!

Seriously!?

Catching Up!

We had a really good week last week.  Adam was off work for the whole week and we weren't scheduled to go anywhere!  I was still working though.  He seemed to have a good week.  He did handy man things around the house and took care of the boys and tried to make things easier on me, which was pretty cool.

On Tuesday we were able to go out for a quiet dinner for two, to celebrate my 32nd birthday.  We went to Outback with out the kids!  It was a pretty nice time to just sit, relax and re-connect. We tried to do a little Christmas shopping while we were out, but that didn't go so good.  I have one thing to say, and it is this:  What has happened to Customer Service?

On Thursday, Jade had a Chorus program at school. She was up on stage singing and performing with her Chorus group.  It was really sweet to see her having so much fun and getting in to the Christmas Spirit like she did.

All week long, we anticipated a big snow storm and on Friday morning it finally hit.  I didn't even think about it when I sent Jade to school.  She leaves around 7:00 am.  About 8 am, snow was coming down and starting to stick.  Those Buses and cars should not be on the roads in slick conditions.  The roads are just roads, and they don't have sidewalks.  It would be very easy for them to end up down in a hole.  School was shut down at 10:00 am and kids were sent home.

You see, we don't get very many snow storms here in NC and when we do the whole town shuts down.  School is cancelled, stores are closed, and no one is out driving around.. except for the crazies who think the elements wont effect them.

It was a BEAUTIFUL day!  The snow was just so magical and we couldn't help but watch it and talk about it and play in it all weekend long!  We made a snowman and an igloo and did lots of sledding and snowball throwing.  It was awesome and it was so nice to have Adam home to enjoy it with us!  He loves the snow!  It was really cute to see him out with the kids playing and participating!  He is such a good Daddy!

Adam and I have been battling some crappy throat head cold something or other.  It is yucky!  I think mine is now a sinus infection.  Gosh I sure hate being sick!

Here are some pictures of Adam dancing around with the boys during the storm.  It is kind of weird when you can’t leave your house for 2 whole days!  You find new things to do!

Decking The Halls

We started to decorate very early in the morning the day after we got the Tree. Adam was checking to make sure all the lights worked before hanging them. Aiden thought it would be really helpful of him to decorate himself! He draped these lights around his shoulders.
Andrew looked his very best with my little balls wreath thingy on his head! He really did look so cute! BUT .. beware... you leave him alone and a few minutes later there will be a lot of broken off balls and a dirty faced little boy!
Here is Ian stretching really far up to place his new favorite Colts ornament {he made sure to put it out of reach of the little hands}

Aiden did enjoy helping hang the ornaments
Here is Adam doing his part with Jade and Ian

trying really hard to get to those Angels! ...he succeeded
..and here we are today. There are hardly any decorations from 3 feet down. Now there is just a heap of light mess. Good thing we bought such a beautiful Tree!
The boys' favorite thing to do is un-plug the lights. They also really love to play in the water! Yeah! I knew as soon as Aiden eyed me watering the tree on the first day we had it, that we would have a problem!
Merry Christmas Season! Only 11 more days till Christmas!

Our Trip to the Tree Farm 2009

We take a drive every year up the mountains to a beautiful Christmas Tree farm, nestled right off the side of the road. How boring is that?! Not at all! They offer you a tractor -wagon ride. The wagon has hay seats to sit on and it drives you about a mile up to the Christmas Tree Fields. It is so pretty up there! This year we were soooo lucky - It snowed! Adam said we are going to really have to dress the kids warm, but I don't think that registered in my mind. I was totally un-prepared. No hat, no gloves, etc. Least I had my coat! Anyways, It was so BEAUTIFUL! We took a little walk up a hill and as soon as we got to the top Andrew was completely done and ready to go back to the warm car. To put it simply: He was Ticked!
Snow Ball Fight!

Adam and me After we got back to the car, Andrew was finally able to warm back up quickly.
As for this Aiden.. he is just a punk when he gets sleepy
All in all we wandered around the trees for about 5 minutes, had some one snap one and only one family picture and we were on our way to catch the next hayride down hill. It was a great time we had there, short and sweet, like a lot of things we do these days.. but ahhhh the memories! After we left there we headed over to the Mexican place for lunch. :0)

We had a wonderful fall 'break'. We had off Wednesday-Sunday and we pretty much just hung out. On Wednesday evening we took the boys for haircuts and some last minute grocery shopping. Then on Thursday morning, we made some mashed potatoes and we were on our way to Grammys. It was a pretty big bash. There were lots and lots of people there. Robbie and Cecilia came from the coast, Jennie and Takeshi came from Indiana and Aimee came from Morganton. I really should have taken a picture of the whole family.... but I didn't get out my camera till we were almost leaving. Dinner was wonderful! I ate so much and I was so full - Then I ate dessert! LOL! On Friday we did the massive 'clean out the garage' project. Totally not my favorite thing, but getting some shelves up in the garage was pretty exciting! The next day Adam went to the trade lot and sold all the overflowing stuff and made some good money. That was pretty cool. Other than that, we are just busy working, school and chasing two 2-year olds.
