Today we finally got 3 out of 5 of Aidens new braces! The two that we got today he is suppose to wear every night. So, after he went to bed, and was nice and sound asleep, I put the 'boot'. Here is a pic of the boot:
And this last picture is Aiden after being woke up from a peaceful sleep by his mean mommy. She woke him up to tortcher him. Poor Little Fella.
oh, I forgot about these... He wears these awesome new shoes during the day. Each shoe has an insert in it so he builds up an arch on the bottom of his foot.. So he doesn't have flat feet..?! I guess. He is kinda not a fan of walking with these heavy shoes on, but I am sure he will adjust!

This neat little contraption helps to not 'undo' all that we work on during the day. It keeps his leg in a certain position so that the tone wont build up and make him stiffer and stiffer.
Next we have the contraption that goes on his left had during sleep. This one is to keep his thumb out. He has a tendancy to pull it in towards the fingers and not use it. So this makes it get use to being out. You cant see his thumb in the pic.. but it is in that little blue finer hole right next to his other hand.

Amazing little boy. With every milestone I just shake my head in awe of how far the boys have come.
oh sweet little aiden. :)
aw he's so cute. I love the pic when you woke him up, you can tell he's just thinking... now what in the world....?? lol
haha, i used to wear "corrective" shoes when I was a kid... these are so much sexier though.
Oh, and you know what? Denis had CP, and he went through all of this, and you'd NEVER know... in fact he didn't have a clue about it until his mom just told him a couple months ago.
Goodness gracious! Our boys have so much in common! I hope that the boot is working as well as the thumb brace. Both boys had indwelling thumbs. They are not as bad now as they used to be, so the OT ladies are not as concerned, and as long as we keep working on our fine motor skills it seems to improve with time. As for the braces.... UGH. The boys kept tearing theirs off. They had to wear them during the day. Their left feet turn in, so when they run a lot of the time they trip and fall. Both of the boys are very bow legged. Most boys grow out of it, but their bowing is not because of the normal bowing, it is because of joints and bones :( So after they turn 2 we will re-evaluate. As for arches... I guess we got lucky! Your guys are so precious!!
