Looking back I am amazed that we were able to get everything done and ready. There were a few last minute helpers that came by to assist (and thank goodness we needed it!) Thanks Grammy and Angela! We also had a very last night there get together with Grammy and Poppy as well as Adams Sisters Aimee and Katie and their families and Angela, Becca and little Cayden.
We had a quick KFC dinner thanks to Aimee and some donuts and the kids were all able to take the last swim in the pool. Everyone had a good time. Here is a #ProjectLife Page Grammy Created of the impromptu get together...
Here are some highlights.. that I remember.
Back Story. It was the last day before we were suppose to be leaving and we still DIDN'T HAVE the wallpaper that we ordered to go up in the master bathroom. There was definitely some panic going on, on the street. It did arrive that day and we were able to start getting it up on the wall rather quickly.
One may ask themselves.. wallpaper? Who still wallpapers? We did. For sure. The house was 30+ years old and when we were remodeling the bathroom we took down at least 3 layers of paper. And part of the last layer was still on the wall.. which definitely created a very nice bubble effect when the wet wallpaper was put on top of it. Oh.. the times were fun!
So.. thank goodness we had ordered a very textured wallpaper - we were able to glue and poke all sorts of holes in the wallpaper and no one ever knew.
When we left on the 18th that bathroom looked freeking amazing! Adam did such a great job on everything. Sad part was we never got to enjoy it being all fixed up. Not even one day. But that is ok, there are better things waiting for us in the future!
I don't think you ever know how much you have until you need to move all the crap. Notice that we are moving in June and there is a nutcracker sitting out in the hallway.. HAHAH.. that is so us!
Boys room all painted and cleaned up!
That middle truck has our name written ALL over it!
Here we are loading up.. Camero in the background.. (Aiden)
Angela came over and was immediately handed a vacuum.. Sorry bout that :) As for me.. I was still adding coats of paint on to those doors!
Sleeping arrangements were a little funny! The boys and I slept in the front room of the house.. on the floor.
Me - EXHAUSTED
As I walked around the house one last time, this penny glued to the house caught my eye. When we first moved in back in 2012, for some reason Jade went around gluing pennies to the house... I think she said there were 7 in all.
This one was located on the side of the house by the gate.
This one was in her bedroom.
One of the big things about leaving NC was the fact that we had 3 cars PLUS the Big rental truck and we just had 2 driver. We ended up selling both our Pilot and our Camero to Carmax. Here is them taking the pilot away..
and.. the weird part was I went from so many keys to just one. The truck key. That was it. It was such a strange feeling as I walked out of that dealership that day. I remember thinking to myself.. OMGee I have NO car payment. Ever since I was 18 years old I have had a car payment. How nuts is that. Let's not add up the $$$.
The morning we were leaving I snapped a few last pics of the house.. here is the final goodbye!
