Easter Eggin'

Happy EASTER 2016
From Sunny California this year

My absolute most favorite experience as a kid (next to trick or treating) was Easter Egg Hunts.  I remember as a kid going to many different places - all over the valley.  I can pin point some of them, but not all.  One that stands out the most was the Rusch Park Easter Egg Hunt.

The candies were terrible tasting sugary egg shaped and wrapped in plastic and made by Brachs. I can't imagine anyone REALLY liked them.. but regardless the hunt was all that mattered!

Anyways, I was delighted to find out that Citrus Heights Rusch Park was having its annual Kiwanis Easter Egg hunt again this year!!  I was able to take the boys. and my sister Margaret, which was really fun for me.  I would have never had thought I would be here where I spent my first 7 years taking the boys to where I went  as a kid.. like never... Ever.

The Easter Egg hunt is way more cool now-a-days though. It was like a carnival with face painting,  a fishing booth, a DJ, tug of war, and sack races along with the Easter Egg Hunt. The boys REALLY enjoyed all that.  Andrew was really shy at first, while Aiden was getting his face painted Andrew wanted nothing to do with it.  He was standing quite far from us over by the basket ball hoop. Until some strange karate man came up and was trying to talk Karate with him.

Here is Aiden with his little Easter Bunny on his face.  he absolutely loved it.

Next came the tug of war and the sack races..

Andrew was excellent at the sack races and the boys side actually won one of the Tug of Wars 1 out of 2 times!

Next was the big hunt.. there was quite a few kids there.. but Aiden and Andrew did pretty great!

Overall a very happy day at the Easter Egg Hunt!

Here is Andrew with his goodies.. not a lot of them but just enough!!
Aiden .. he did really good until his basket tipped over and the eggs fell out - he finished with 2.  Andrew was really a sweet brother and he gave him some of his extra eggs!  Every one left happy with a happy heart.
