Christmas Tree Hunt - 2017
Scheduling a trip to the tree farm amongst 4 work schedules and travel just couldn't come together for us this year. We have Ian who works morning shift - Jade who works mid morning - and night shift and Mom and Dad traveling to different places at different times - we just had to take a Saturday morning run for the farm, only the 4 of us.
Side note.. As I was walking the fields in search of the perfect tree... I came across the above tree. For some reason.. it was such a powerful reminder to me that life is ever-changing. When one thing ends or stops, a new thing has a chance to take its place and thrive. Life is ever changing.
Anyway the beautiful tree farm, nestled right off 181 up in the mountains was beautiful as ever this year. I think this has got to be my absolute favorite part of winter. Just getting in the car - driving all the way up there, hoping on a hayride tractor wagon and being hauled up the mountain to the tree fields... Just absolutely LOVE it. This year the trees seemed to be a little sparser than normal but we were still able to find the perfect tree.
I do have a question though.... Since when did Christmas Trees start growing like this:
These Christmas trees had 4 feet long trunks... so strange have never seen them grow like this before.. They did create the perfect place to play. At least according to our little Andrew...
One weird thing that happened as we trudged through the fields.. is my family kept making weird arm movements.. like my Adam was standing like this for a good 2 minutes at least.. and behind him the kid was there like that for a good 2 -3 minutes. I felt like I was in some kind of a fun house or something.
Regardless.. :)
Teacher can I ask you a question?
OK OK, he was really measuring the highth of the tree to see if it would fit in our front room (it ended up being like 2 feet to tall.. which was amazing because I got to use all those branches in other locations.
