I just got home from a whirlwind trip to CA to attend my neice Stephanie Romero’s funeral.
I started out at 4:00 AM from Morganton and got to the airport to late to make my flight at 6:00 AM …ooops. So I missed that and the next flight out wasn’t until 11:30 AM. So I went back to the car and tried to take a nap. I couldn’t really sleep though cause I am sorta scared to fly. And that is probably why I missed my flight to begin with. Adam even joked about that before I left the house. I had come back in after dropping my suitcase in the car and starting it to look for a coke. He said are you trying to miss your flight – No! LOL
Here is a pic of the Sun Rising above Charlotte
After two layovers and 14 hours in the airports that day – I hopped on my last flight from Denver to Sacramento. Here is a pic of the sun going down in Denver…
Made my way to Sacramento Airport, took a bus ride scavenger hunt to find the car my brother left for me in long term parking and hopped in the car to make my way over to Gladys’ house where Marg way waiting for me. I was pretty nervous about driving out of the airport as I really had no clue how to get back on I-80 from their- but the signs led the way without any problems. Once on I-80 I was good to go.
The next day (Thursday) We ventured out to pick up some of the things that were needed for the luncheon we were having after the service – soo we went out and about -
Marg
a beautiful tree
We passed the street of the house we grew up on
AFter our shopping trip we spent the rest of the afternoon at Stephanie’s Viewing. She looked beautiful. It was really hard to see such a young beautiful girl who was taken from life too soon laying in there. It was hard to see the hurt on her friends and families faces. I just felt the relief from her situation. It would really suck to be so so sick!
Here are a couple of posters that family and friends made with some pics of her
This is Steph’s Monkey!
There were tons of flowers!
Rest In Peace Steph!
The After party!
Ok – that sounds horrible but I don’t mean it bad. We had a luncheon after the service. It was nice just about 40 – 50 people there mostly family and some friends. Things got a little wild when Cathy, Stephanies Mom, hopped up on an ice chest and let loose with some birthday singing – LOL
and if you would like to see video – lol - coming soon!
