8.5 Month Update!

The little boys had a dr. appointment this week. Both seem to be doing so good. It has become apparent in the last week or so that Aiden needs us to work with him a little physical therapy wise. Adam and I noticed that a good protion of the time Aiden holds his left hand in a fist... see pic. When he had his hemmorage there was some brain damage done in his right brain, which I guess affects the left side of the body. The part that was damaged was the nerve talkers. LOL.. I dont know what they are call (communication between brain and muscles). I brought up that he doesnt use that hand to much and usually keeps it fisted and his leg isnt very active either. The dr. said to work with him on opening and closing his fist slowly, and just teaching his brain about it I guess. He didnt seem to worried about it. He referred me to talk with the early childhood intervention specialists that come out to our house. I will talk with them on Monday, and see where we go from here. Aiden has chunked up to 16 lbs. 7 oz. and Andrew is 14 lbs. 12 oz. Aiden is about 3/4 an inch taller. For their adjusted age (5.5 months) Aiden is in the 50 percentile and Andrew is in the 25 percentile. For their age though, they are just barely on the charts. They are certainly loving baby food. Andrew loves sweet potatos the most and Aiden love rice cereal?! LOL! Tomorrow is the very last swimming event of the Summer! YIPPEE!!! I will have my family back! LOL..jk.. It is here in Morganton so that will be nice as I can kinda come and go with the boys. I am sure Ian and Jade will both do very well. They have really seemed to enjoy swimming this summer. I am hoping Adam will swim "fools in the pool". He has tried to get out of it this year by saying his knee is bad.. and it is.. I watched him fall over last week when he got up out of a chair. (I hate it when people hurt themselves and it is funny). Anyways, I think he is just scared of not winning or something. I just think it is so cool to see the parents who use to do swim team growing up swimming again!
