Swim Conference 2008!

Yesterday I did a little walk down memory lane in my mind. I was remembering 4 years ago when I was in Utah and Adam was in North Carolina and we were just talking on the computer every night. All summer long he would talk about his swim team, and would show me tons of pictures. After all the meets he would talk about how well Ian and the other kids had done. He was so proud of all of them. Watching how they had improved from the first day of practice when a lot of the little kids can hardly swim at all.. to the very end when they were racing down the pool. This was definitly his passion - and definitly one of the reasons I 'fell' so hard for him. He gave so much of himself for these kids, and did it to help them have a good summer and also to improve their self-esteems. I remember him being so excited for the conference meet at the end, and even got me so I wanted to fly here from Ut. to watch.. (that would have been awkward.. lol). Anyways, my point is this.. Now-a-days I get caught up in the logistics of taking care of the kids, the work schedules and any other things, and kinda get irritated that Adam is always on the run..?! Ironic really. One of the very reasons I fell in love with him, some days bothers me. Strange lesson I guess. I just need to learn patience... and also how to 'go with the flow'!

Anyways, back to reality. Yesterdays swim conference was the longest ever in the history of Adam. I dropped Adam, Ian and Jade off at 7 am. We got home last night at 11:30 pm. Geez! I was not able to stay there for very long with the twins. It was far to hot. Aiden turns into a little red turnip when he gets hot. He wasn't even in the sun. So after about 1.5 hours, Grammy Carol and I took the boys home. We had a nice visit and then she ran back over to the pool to watch the rest. This was at about 1:30. I made it back over to the pool around 5:00 thinking the meet would be over soon. There were 2 Thunder Storms that came through.. which postponed things. Fools in the pool was cancelled. :( I was so looking forward to seeing Aimee and Angela swim. I really thought the meet would be over for sure by 6pm. When I got there all the snacks and drinks I had sent were gone. Ian, Jade, Chloe, Rahlee, Josh, Caleb and Andrew "Gabe Church"(josh's friend) all swam really good. Chloe being the youngest and smallest in the bunch did such a good job. This pool that we swam at was a 50 meter pool, I think most pools are 25 meters. It was super long. I would say olympic size, but maybe I am wrong?! The worst part of today was when Coach Aimee got heat exhaustion. All I know is I was watching her, she sat down in front of me with Andrew.. then all of a sudden she was asking someone to get the baby as she was very sick. Then she just laid down and looked like she wanted to die. She went home and was vomiting all night. GeeZ! Poor Girl! I think she is feeling much better today.

Anyways, funny side story.. after we got home last night Adam and I were viewing Jades times from the first swim meet to yesterdays conference.. and each meet she added more seconds on to her time.. meaning as the season went along, she got slower and slower... LOL! Such a social butterfly. She is definitly just their for the friends! Here are some pics!
